THE Flagstaff Plaza is becoming a one-stop-shop for the residents nearby as investors continue to open their businesses at the much talked about establishment.
There has been an increase in activity in the area with the opening of the plaza and more and more people are expected to visit the plaza with the opening of a shoe store yesterday.
Grace Road Group yesterday officially opened their first shoe store at the plaza, named after the brand Bata — a European brand name famous for its quality and comfortable shoes.
Group’s public relations manager Grace Park said the store catered for everyone — from children, to men and women and stocked dress shoes, work shoes and shoes for all occasions.
“From what I have learnt during my time here in Fiji is that when people hear Bata they know its flip flops but we want to change this perspective and to let people know that Bata also has all kinds of shoes and for all occasions,” she said.
Ms Park said they opened two shoe stores yesterday — one at the Flagstaff Plaza and one at the Rups Nakasi Mall.
“At the Flagstaff Plaza branch we have four staff members and two at the Nakasi outlet,” she said.
She said they were aware that most local people usually travelled overseas to buy quality items such as shoes and bags and they wanted to change this and bring quality items to the people here.
“With our various outlets here in Fiji we try our best to bring the best quality of items and service to the people here.
“For this shoe store we will be going to Singapore and Italy every three months to choose the shoes we want for our stores and our customers,” she said.
She said so far they had received great response from their customers and they expected even greater response in the new year.
